The Roxy has also become a fan favorite for movie producers from around the world attending Muskogee’s BareBones International Independent Film and Music Festival each April.
The Roxy stage has hosted performances of a Miss America (Shawntel Smith), Blues Hall Of Famer D.C. Minner, emerging super stars, The Swon Brothers and super star Carrie Underwood.
A PIECE OF HISTORY
Originally opened in 1948 as a movie theater, the Roxy re-opened in August 2001 as a multi-purpose venue.
Muskogee’s Roxy Theater is the only Roxy left in Oklahoma and one of the fewer than fifty surviving Roxy Theaters nationwide. It has become a destination for tourists, movie historians and photographers seeking an eclectic location.

The Roxy Theater is owned by a City of Muskogee Public Trust Authority and governed by a Volunteer Board of Directors. The Roxy relies on generous giving (both financial and volunteerism) to continue operations of this historic venue in the heart of Muskogee’s downtown. All donations are tax-deductible.
